Set your face

There is something wonderful about a door closing. Though it can feel like you have wasted time on something that is now closed to you, it is also a positive in that you know that that direction is not the right one. Something definite has come from it. Once you know the direction to travel, you can set your face towards it and stop going down the rabbit trails.

In some ways this year has been like that for me. I have been exploring various avenues, trying out different things, and working out which is the direction to go in. I have learned that, if I want to flourish no matter what, I need to see the positive in all situations and learn from everything. There is always a crop to be had, I just need to recognise it.

  1. The first two sentences are powerful and personally meaningful. I keep repeating them in my head and saying them out loud feeling the truth of them. They are like a balm to me as changes swirl around me. Changes I participate in, but do not control. Like you I find that finding the positive in these situations helps me to flourish.

I'm curious to know which things you are keeping in your life and which were experiences that you feel you no longer need.

Thanks for this post. I related deeply to it.

    1. Thank you, Lynda. It's encouraging to know that we don't live in isolation; that our experiences, although unique in their particulars, are also common occurrences in our separate journeys. Change is never easy, but when it is circumstances beyond your control that bring that change, it is even harder. I hope and pray that your situation will resolve itself and that you will keep holding on to the beams of light that are there.

  2. Powerful words for sure Tracy. Tonight I was starting to work on my goals for the nest season. I have been creating a vision board for a number of years and tomorrow I will complete it. I find it really helps to focus on those goals and to visually see the vision board to remind me. All the best - may many new doors open for yhou.
