Waves

Ride the waves, don't get tossed about by them. Let them power you, not overpower you.

Whatever sort of wave you are experiencing at the moment, try not to let it overwhelm you. Waves ebb and flow, so if we can endure - ride them out - we know that relief is coming, even if it is only for a time. The waves of life that we get through also teach us. We gain resilience, and so are better able to ride the next wave that comes.

Waves, like the wind can push you around. You can submit to them, you can fight them, or you can harness them.

Wordless

I'm going through one of those seasons where words are difficult to come by. I'm producing lots of colour and pattern, but no words. So here are some A3 size pieces on Karst paper (made of stone). I'm loving the smooth surface and how differently the paint goes on compared with watercolour or mixed media paper. At the moment these are stuck on the wardrobe door in my studio while I work out what they're all about :)

Make it so!

"Most of us would like to live with wonder, grace, and optimism. Perhaps it pays to practice this in advance." Seth Godin.

If we live with these things and show them to others, maybe it will be infectious, and maybe the world will change, little by little. It's that cliché of being the change you want to be. Sometimes it works.

What's growing?

What's growing in your garden?

What season is it in your life? Are you blooming like spring, or hibernating in a winter season? Spring is great for feeling that you are bursting with new ideas. Summer sees a proliferation of energy and productivity. Autumn brings the fruit of all that energy and hard work. Winter allows for the recouping of resources and the percolation of new ideas, even if it looks like nothing is happening on the surface.

All seasons are necessary, so relish the one that you are in.
