Practice doesn't necessarily make perfect, but it certainly makes improvement!
When I look back at some of the faces I produced a couple of years ago, I can see a vast improvement between then and now. I find myself looking at how the light falls on faces when I watch a film, so my observational skills have improved, although there is still a long way to go. I find that I'm not particularly good at catching a likeness, but my faces look more real nowadays.
I shall keep practicing.
