29 faces - #17 and Journal Fodder 365 prompt #39

Another collage today. This is from the same photo as I used for face #8. Again, I put it through Photoshop and simplified the shapes. I'm thinking it would make a good screenprint or linocut.

In Journal Fodder 365 I'm close to the end. Only 9 more prompts to go. This one is stillness and motion.

There is so much motion in life nowadays - being constantly available with instant media makes it difficult to find times of silence and stillness.

But times of stillness are necessary to fuel the times of motion. Without the stillness I run out of energy. I make sure to get that time to myself every morning so that I can make it through the day.

29 Faces - Day 7

Face #7 is a simple collage of just 5 pieces. A very quick page, just trying to break away from the 'draw an outline and fill it in' that I seem to have fallen in to.

Once a month a group of five women meet together to do life, encourage, pray, and grow. I am privileged to be a part of it. We call our group dangerous women from the book by Lynne Hybels Nice Girls Don't Change the World. It is a pleasure to be able to meet with women who will hold you accountable, challenge you on behaviour and attitudes, and allow you to be open, to cry, to laugh, to just be yourself.

Thank you to the dangerous women in my life.

drawing and collage

Today was my last mixed-media drawing class and I feel I have learned so much. I seem to see things differently now, noticing the light and shade, proportion, etc.. Earlier in the week I drew the rhino at the top and added a little watercolour. Today in class we did collage so I decided to collage the rhino. I'm pleased with the result :)

Now for new challenges!
